The Conservative Party has revealed that its deficit last year reached almost £30 million,The biggest in British political history.
The scale of the debts dwarf the £16 million incurred by John Major after the party's defeat to Labour in 1997 and Michael Howard's £18 million spending spree at the last General Election is being blamed for the figures.
Plans are now afoot to sell Tory Central Office in Smith Square,the building behind Margaret Thatcher's three election victories,to reduce the deficit......
