THE ARMY has launched a new drive to attract more recruits from the black and minority ethnic (BME) communities in Scotland.

Forces chiefs have hired a specialist public relations firm to take their message into communities, and last week signed a deal to sponsor a multicultural football team. Only 800 Asians are enlisted in the Army's ranks.

The campaign kicked off with the launch of the shirt sponsorship deal with the Glasgow Ansar football team at Hampden Park on Wednesday...........
