Tacitus is an unknown quantity at this point
U.K supports Taliban drug barons.

Republican Sen. John McCain went to London to praise the British–but also to disagree with them just a bit. In an interview with the Times of London while in London on his way home from the Middle East, McCain said he favors “crop spraying in Afghanistan to eradicate poppies, a move that set him on a collision course with Britain,” Washington Wire - WSJ.com : Political Perceptions: Straight Talk from McCain in Britain

Part of the article states;

Quote:
Britain is “chiefly responsible for the anti-narcotics program in Afghanistan,” but it and the Afghan government have opposed a serious eradication of the poppy crop, arguing such an effort would “force farmers into the arms of the Taleban, who are heavily involved in the drug trade,
So...to stop them falling into the arms of the Taliban WITHOUT poppies, you let them STAY in the arms of the Taliban WITH poppies???

Ahhh...what is the difference?

LOGIC would indicate that SOMEONE in Britain has a vested interest in the poppy crop, but could not give a shit about the Taliban.

To "do nothing" is the same as "encouraging". So, WHOM in Westminster is getting big fat brown envelopes full of money handed to him in back rooms of deserted back street pubs, by towel wearing dusky strangers, with a hint of sand in their sandals?
