A Tory MP sparked a race row yesterday when he said "controversial" immigration came only from Africa, the Caribbean and Asia.
Daniel Kawczynski who is obviously from Polish descent accused the BBC of picking on "white Christians from Poland", causing a rise in violence against Poles.
But, he said, "nine out of 10" immigrants were from Africa, the West Indies and the Indian sub-continent and "most of it is illegal".
Labour's Denis MacShane said: "All foreigners, black or white legally in Britain are welcome. To indicate anything else is to sink into BNP racist territory."
