Peak Oil - Truth or a lie?

'Peak Oil' - True or a Lie?
By 'Google-ing' Peak Oil & Lies' this brings up quite an interest array of articles. Those range from 'Peak Oil' being True, and describing domesday scenarios of war, famine, genocide etc -- 'End Times' because ...'Oil is Running Out' all due to 'Oil Wars' and who controls the oilfields.

To... articles that the whole thing 'Peak Oil' is a myth created by powerful politcal interests and Oil Companies trying to close down the amount of oil pumped to deliberately keep prices artifficialy high. Suggestions that the US Government has for years, coupled with the CIA and the 'dindustrial-Military complex' coupled with the 'Bilderberg Group' and Oil companies are creating the shortages by trying to control or interfere with soveriegn states who happen to be oil producers. By placing US Miliary bases in states where they have never been before, who also have vast oil reservese where influence can be exerted.

All very interesting, but is it true?.

Brazil's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, says it has discovered a huge new offshore oil field off the coast of Rio de Janeiro state.
The Papa-Terra field was found in the Campos Basin, which is already Brazil's most important oil-producing region.

Petrobras estimates it contains at least 700 million barrels of crude - about 10% of Brazil's current reserves. The field, which is jointly operated with the US company Chevron, should start producing oil by the end of 2011. Petrobras said the oil from the Papa-Terra field was heavier than the sweet light crude favoured by international markets, but the firm was investing $2bn in adapting its refineries to process heavy oil.

North Sea oil Fields --Britain's oldest North Sea oil field is on course to start producing again - 10 years after it was closed down and abandoned.....

So, which is it ..... 'Peak Oil'... or 'Plenty Oil' but it may be more technically difficult to drill and pump?

Do we drive our automobiles, RV, SUVs, or start curtailing our journeys by car to help reduce our carbon footprints, and get on our bikes?

I can't ride a bycycle (too fat!!), but I have increased my Bus journeys - but then I can as I have a Bus Pass, which not everybody has access to, and I cannot afford to drive as much as I used to...... (Boo Hoo!)
