| UK Gun Control
Here in Great Britain we have gun control. It cost the country of small fortune to take control of legal firearms what we term as section one firearms. In the main these are hand guns semi and revolvers. The government made owners who legally owned these firearms hand them into police stations and the owners were compensated given what the government thought was the value of firearms and other bits for those who made their own ammo.
Where did we benefit gun shops went out of business sports shooters lost there sport the country lost out on the tax from the sale of firearms and ammo ect.
And did it take the guns out of the hands of the criminals hell no. Since the increase in gun control firearm offences have increased we have had far more shootings in my country. In a 12 month period we had two police officers shot and killed plus a few wounded. That to some in the US may not seem a lot but one police officer here shot and killed is a lot.
The likes of you and me the good honest members of our society cannot own a gun yet the criminals have them in large numbers. We cannot go out and enjoy shooting the firearms of our choice we can have black powder and single shot firearms. Rifles are OK as long as they are not semi or automatic.  |
