| Parental Notification I got this subject from another forum and thought it very interesting.
In November, the people of the state of Florida will be voting to amend the constitution. This would require that parents be notified when their minor daughters, age 18 years and under, attempt to either get a divorce or major surgery, abortion.
I find this move to push this agenda interesting because in now exists in many forms in the province of Ontario. Also, the U.S. has many privacy laws that exists to protect individual information and this is something that Canadian provinces do not have. For example, I can not even get a aspirin from school clinic without my parents being notified. In other words, according to the government, I don't have enough intelligence to decide I have a headache or not. This is just like if a woman this age becomes pregnant, she can not decide if she wants to end the pregnancy or not.
There is just not enough common sense given in these issues.
