I know it's been a few days, but what did you think of the Eurovision? I loved it, especially since Ireland wasn't in the final. It took so much anxiety out of it (yes, I care, so what?)
I think Terry ***an was an asshole to complain about the political voting. That's the fun bit. I notice he didn't make similar comments when the UK got points from Ireland, Malta and Cyprus.

I don't know why we (UK) bother , unless we can enter under the home nations to have our own block vote we will never have a chance no matter how good the song. Even then the Scots would probably give us nil points
Cypress and Malta did not vote for us just the Irish and ...........San Marino

Isn't the predictable voting part of the fun?

Up to a point but it is meant to be a contest, if only a minority of countries can actually win due to political reasons then why bother taking part !

Israel can't compete in the Middle East because all its neighbours would boycott the event. I believe there was a problem in a footbal tournament a few years back.
Turkey competes - I think - because its people, or at least the elites, see themselves as being European. Also, I'm guessing the fact that Turkey is an ally of Israel would cause problems. I think Persian refers to Iran.

But it is european they are not,if they refuse to get along with their neighbours it is their problem! Is their a middle east song contest(i hope not i find the style of music in that region to be pretty horrible and painfull)?
Iran is a part of persia, historically persia was a huge region the capital of which was in the area of Iraq between the Tigris and euphrates rivers. Not far in fact from Baghdad today! It was a huge area, and still is,it still encompasses most of Iran, areas of Turkey,Pakistan and Iraq. The primary language of the region is Farsee although many speak the Urdu form of arabic and arabic proper(arabic is a modernised Dialect of the ancient hebrew language)!
Still it dosnt explain why arab and persian persons(semetic people)have a right to participate in the eurovision, could the USA compete if mexico and canada wouldnt let them compete in a pan american song contest, what about argentina?Or Trinidad and tobago?
It just dosent make sense to me!!!

I thought it was mundane and only enjoyed Iceland's song, a good bit of dance and techno music worked well and the woman along with the women representing Norway and Ukraine were very attractive.
I was disappointed with Andy Abraham, he should stick to cleaning bins, because he is talentless.
Block voting has always occurred in Eurovision, but much of Europe are not fans of the UK due to the war in the Middle East. ;)

For the first time i watched the whole thing and found it a complete farce how after all these years of political voting we still choose to compete.
Read somewhere that Terry may quit as he is fed up of the bloc voting as well.
I suggest in future we boycott the event, as Terry is right it isnt about the music anymore.

I agree, but it was never about the music!
Perhaps we should boycott the entire EUssr while we are at it.Block voting occurs there too!

Scrap Eurovision altogether. Its only purpose was to bring us war torn europeans closer together and what an amazing job it did in that department...

I think it's new purpose is to be a bit of fun. There's something precious about being able to predict 80% of the voting patterns and not care.

The main thing is we will be constantly reminded of who we can rely on in the EUssr by the prejudiced voting of their peoples, then we can react/live accordingly!
If we knew how much the french hated us in the two world wars we could have saves ourselves billions in cash!More so though we could have saved a million british lives and allowed the french and germans their united europe without the death of two generations of our boys!!

The whole event was a charade and nothing more. If we are going to accuse Eastern European countries of politizing etc, we should look closer to home.
The group chosen to represent the United Kingdom, was one of the most pernicious political anti-white statements if ever there was one.
Only one member of that group appeared to be white, presumably indigenous.
I'm glad the United Kingdom lost on this occasion because this group certainly was not representative of the United Kingdom which is the ancestral homeland of white Britons of European origin, not Afro-Caribbean Negroes and East/South East Asians for that matter.

Good grief you have managed to crow bar race in to the Eurovision thread ! ......... i wonder if your views are the same when a Black British athlete wins a Gold Medal or a Black footballer scores the winning goal for England in a big game ?
Would you really rather see this country lose Gold Medals and important matches just because those representing this country are Black ?

Personally, I don't see non-whites as being representative of Britain in any sphere simply because their bloodlines and cultures don't originate from the countries that make up Britain or the British Isles, for that matter. Their lands of origin are elsewhere.
A country that allows individuals who are not of its race, heritage, culture, beliefs and traditions to represent it any field, is misrepresenting itself and thus betraying its indigenous peoples whose birthright that country is.
It would be exactly the same analogy if Uganda or India permitted a near predominance and in some cases, total predominance of white Europeans to represent them in the fields of sports and entertainment besides other occupations, I'm quite sure you'd find cause for complaint in such scenarios.
Winning accolades of whatever sort, are not the be-all and by-all in life. Countries survive just the same without them.
Furthermore, something that is truly insulting and degrading toboot, to both indigenous Britons and white nations abroad, is the misleading impression that's relayed internationally which suggests that white nations can only win any kind of medal providing it's non-whites who are doing the competing.
