To what extent have the powers of the european parliament been restrained by other EU institutions since it's inception?

The EU Parliament is useless with the European Commission at the head of the EU. The Commission has the power to veto any Parliamentary decision and has the power to dissolve the Parliament and demand elections. All this from an unelected Commission.

So much for democracy.

Wrong. Because in EU law the Commission has the power and authority to do that without being removed, whereas if the Queen did it, it would be the end of the monarchy.

The queen may do this but it would in the end be the cause of the demise of the monarchy. The Queen is in fact an employee of the people and can be removed at the wish of the people. The euro fascists are controllers of the people and are not answerable to anyone!Touche back atcha
