Two schoolboys were given detention after refusing to kneel down and 'pray to Allah' during a religious education lesson.Parents were outraged that the two boys from year seven (11 to 12-year-olds) were punished for not wanting to take part in the practical demonstration of how Allah is worshipped.......

IMO, religion should be kept out of schools. There is no place for it in public schools.
Religious instruction is up to parents - only a parent can decide what their child is taught.
The teacher in question should be reprimanded for her actions.

Look (http://donalblaney.blogspot.com/2008/06/dont-preach-christianity-here-its.html), uproar when some Christians try and give out the Bible in 'a Muslim Area' yet not much in the media about Islam being forced upon children in school.

A hate crime to preach christianity in the UK!Are things really that bad!!!
I would suggest, for safety that all either move out of the UK or convert to the faith of the hashemite. It seems that the country has been lost when it is a crime to be a christian!
This is a faith based apathied in place in the UK today, the UK is a colony nothing more. The masses are ruled by the Islamic elite, who controll the government. It is like when the British ran india, the puppet governments gave an appearence of self rule, but the real rulers were the handfull of British!

I agree, however what frustrates me is this rule only applies to Christianity. Christian signs had to be taken down on school premises because it was religious preaching or whatever. However, everytime I walk down this particular hall there is a booth set up with a big sign that says Jesus was a Muslim along with a few other signs. Strange, isn't it.

Maybe they could tell about the prayer for information(if the parents wanted of course) but the fact that teachers wanting them to apply the prayer is unnecessary and nonsense i think if they are Christian. I feel so sorry when I see ppl. like them. The worst is everbody thinks bad things about Islam now because of those kind of ppl..

I actually agree with what happened. I would wonder if these Christians knew they were going into a predominately Muslim area with the intent of preaching Christianity.
If they were genuinally unaware, it would have been dismissed as an innocent mistake, but if they knew beforehand the area was populated by Muslims, yet chose to preach Christianity anyway, I would label this as a lack of respect for the Islamic community.

This would anger me. I don't believe any religion has the right to self promotion, so to speak. To me, religion is something to be kept private, and not foisted upon others - this goes for all religions, not just Christianity.

But going back to the thread,i feel it was also wrong for the government employee to force christians to Kneel and pray to allah!
Reminds me of the story of that Very prdiary Private of the Buffs who refused to KOW TOW to the chinese pirate who captured him and went to his death, these kids should be recognised for their bravery against this oppressive and wicked government!:cool:Well done Kids!
Another point raised here is since when has freedom of speech and freedom of religon been a hate crime in the UK?Anyone should be allowed to preach in the UK,and distribute religous material, solong as it dosnt incite violence!Muslems are allowed to activly try to convert christians, who (for the moment at least)have the right to refuse to convert,no one calles islamic evangelism lacking in respect for christians, jews, sikhs, hindus and atheists do they?Yet christian evangelism is a hate crime(according to the police officer on the scene).A double standard again,i think!

I'm not NuLabs biggest fan but it's unfair to brand the teacher a government worker purely to imply that he/she was acting on direct governmental orders to include the Muslim prayer into religious education.
The simple fact is , religion of ANY type should not be taught in our schools. That said , yes the boys should be praised instead of reprimanded for refusing to kneel and pray to Allah.

Thank you tete, they should be praised for standing up against oppression of this kind.As should any free minded individual, particulary in these dark days when freedoms are being undermined daily and schools are becoming increasingly more of a political mouthpiece than education facilities(it was in this respect that i mentioned the teacher being a govnt employee, which teachers for the most part are).Schools and teachers are the biggest propeganda tools in the NULAB armory.I can say without a shadow of a doubt that ideas from a schoolteacher were major factors in my daughter becoming pregnant at 15,it WAS encouraged and when my Daughter voiced my opinion as i taught her(responsibility and the stupidity of having kids young and an anti welfare message) the Teachers exact words were "that is so old fashioned,no one has kids to get welfare, your dad has an outdated viewpoint"!I have interprated this as saying, the old ways are bad,the NULAB way is cool, ignore your dad and be cool!
The rest of the story is just as ridiculous, the 22 year old paedophile who Knocked her up was not arrested, the police felt it wasnt in the best interest(child molestors roaming the st is a good thing i guess)! Now they are still together although had seperated for a couple of weeks when my Daughter caught him messing around with another 15 year old(he is now 27 and i guess my daughter is too old for him). When i reported this to W.Yorks police i was told i was waisting police time, and that if i passed this info onto the current 15 year olds parents that i could be charged with harrassment(of the paedophile)! My big worry is that given this guys prooven track record of having a sick obsession with underage children, what will happen to my Grandaughter when she comes into his targer age group?I presented this question to Inspector cartwright at Huddersfield police station and was told i was being stupid,of course he laughed in my face!
Goes to show you how things are, such things have become so normalised that folk can no longer see what damage it may cause, but such a life is all that a working class girl is good for in NULABLAND and it also encourages the governments point that we do nothing but get drunk and get pregnant underage and are a bunch of spongers,a sub culture they have created by their manipulation of education and media!(in my opinion:D).

As a Stokie resident, I can say they won't do too well beyond the usual suspects. In the last lot of council elections in 2006, the beeb was saying how well they'd do, but it never happened. They only gained two seats (giving them seven in total, and not the five or more the beeb suggested the polls show).
I think when it comes to the crunch many people talk it up, but their conscience stops them voting for these people. (Thank God).

Im fairly sure the moderate muslims and the other faiths, and non believers, that populated Finsbury Park in London objected to te hate that was preached by Abu Hamza, in the street after he was ejected from the mosque.
I also don't think they appreciate sites like this that seems to wish to spread discord amongst the communities.

So I think in the grand scheme of things we could probably all agree that there's fault on all sides. But I admire the boys for not wishing to pray to a religion they werent a part of.
