This report about UN peacekeepers exchanging food for sex with minors is one of the most disheartening articles I have read in quite some times. The hand that is supposed to feed those in hardship is taking advantage of the situation and violating the trust the vicitims, the U.N. and the world has place in them.

The UN needs a kick up the arse and it has to reform considerably, or else it'll slide down even further towards complete corruption.

Paedophilia and having sex with a prostitute is a different ball game entirely.

We can't sell food for oil, we can't sell food for sex, what the hell are we gonna sell the food for then? They sure as hell don't have any money to buy it with.

Your right sir! I view it in the context of probity of these UN food aid which was according to the thread starter was redirected to sex (food for sex and sex for food) vis-à-vis US visiting forces that have a promotional effect of having minors in flesh trade (sex for dollar and dollar for sex). Its advantage against hardship.
