You all complain about the dems and the repubs. You all say a third party will have no teeth. What if we could get all the incumbents out in the gen election. And replace them with a modest 35% third party people. THEN in 2008 a 3rd party candidate would actually have a shot.
Arent we ready for this. Arent you all tired of being let down by people who dont have your interest at heart????
If you asked someone to come in and paint your house and they painted only HALF of it and painted that half the wrong color would you fire them????

Eventhough, the USA prides herself as the world's foremost Democracy,it is not and will not be so unless and untl it allows Leftists and their thought to flourish. Is this not against individual freedom, rocking the very foundarions of democratic, principles and ideals?
To me true democracy can be found only in Britain,Europe and Asia.
You are right. If the USA is to survive as a democratic instead of a right wing christian Fundie nation,it has to allow Multiparty system.

Let me explain. Leftists and their thoughts are allowed to flourish. They dominate the pop cluture, the media, the education system, unions. Just think of all the times you've enjoyed hearing Americans in the music or movie industries badmouthing America and/or Bush and you loved it. However they have not been winning elections. They have not even been able to win Democtratic primaries (until recently ). The voters have rejected them. This is perfectly in tune to democratic priciples and ideals!
To me true democracy can be found only in Britain,Europe and Asia.

See you cannot comprehend that if the people vote for right wing christians and they win elections and govern the nation that is a democracy.
IMO the reason you cannot see this obvious truth is that your committment to leftism and/or antiamericanism is greater than your committment to democracy.
If democracy perishes in the West it will be because of people like you trying to "save" democracy from people you disagree with.
By demonizing or dehuminizing your political opponents you have already taken the first step.

It is time for a third party - the Libertarian Party.
Vote Libertarian!

What it is REALLY time for is Congressional Term Limits.
I am a long time Republican who will never again vote for ANY incumbent until we term limit Congress, and even then, I am likely to vote Libertarian.

Nels, as a member of the Libertarian Party I would like to say "thanks" for your offer of support. Please rest assured that the vast majority of Libertarians support Congressional term limits fully. When you vote Libertarian, you can count on the fact that the people you're voting for WANT to limit government power - not expand it. The Republicans have completely dropped the ball on that issue.
I'm also a member of US Term Limits. You might want to join them as well:

PatriotLarry,
Suppose the third party you are talking about really materializes and wins 35%of the votes and at a future date, if not in 2008, posts the winning candidate...still how would that third party be fundamentally different from the present ones. Gradually the usual traits of politicians like selfishness, corruptibility and narrow-mindedness are going to creep in, making it just another party.
The problem is how do we confront these 'usual' traits of politicians with the only power we have - our constitutional right to vote?
The following link may suggest you the answer:

Great, someone else has a blog expressing their political views, with more blogs having counter-views. I haven't read every post in depth, but third parties have existed in this country for a long time. Typically, they address popular issues ignored by the other two major parties, and usually whatever issue they represent is embraced by the existing two parties after or during the election (if the issue is that important to the American people).
I would like to see more parties have an active role in government, but with how money has embraced politics, I think it's not going to happen.

I think there is some confusion. I wanted to convey that your opinion would be of great value on the other thread too, 'Modification to democracy in India' Hope I have clarified.

Add one more candidate at top of the ballot paper in each and every constituency. This candidate would be "None from Below" If this candidate wins all those in the ballot list shall not contest any election in the Government for a period of 6 years. If all candidates contesting a post they shall be banned if this rule is made applicable.
