Bulletin by the North west Lib Dems:

Launched in 2002, the Wolf Fund has helped us to provide support to local campaigners across the region, beating the BNP back in places from Blackburn to the Wirral peninsula.

It has helped transform the political map of Burnley: where the BNP had become the official opposition to the Labour council, it helped the Lib Dems build a liberal alternative and as of May 2006, Burnley is now a Lib Dem led council.

In 2004, the Wolf Fund helped us to gain a second MEP in the North West, and thwart the BNP's aims to get their leader elected to the European Parliament in their top target Euro-constituency

It seems that the Lib Dems are also running scared of the BNP:)

The REAL Alternative - 'Common sense' reasons for YOU to vote Liberal Democrats:

- Scrap mandatory life sentences for murder and also for repeat rapists.
- Give prisoners, like convicted killer Ian Huntley, the right to vote in this country's elections.
- Raise the criminal age of responsibility from 10 to 12 in order to protect minors like James Bulger's killers.
- No to curfew orders on account of anti-social behaviour as it infringes on human rights.
- Legalise hard drugs:
- End all Jail sentences for drug possession.
- A complete amnesty on all illegal immigrants presently in Britain.
- No quotas for asylum seekers applying to stay here.
- No opting out of all or part of the European Convention on Human Rights - all decisions on the right to asylum should be judged according to international law.
- We should welcome anyone from abroad needing healthcare. NO getting tough on health tourism.
- No demonising or denying the value of immigrants.
- The Muslim community must be allowed to appoint Muslim imams to seats in the House of Lords.
- A new Equality Act giving people of all faiths equal rights in the UK.
- A ban on using any religion to incite racial hatred.
- Pledge to respect all our communities and celebrate the benefits of diversity - No to attacks on minority groups and using race to win political support.

It makes you wonder why people vote for the Lib Dems with policies like that,it will be interesting to see just how far the BNP have closed the gap on the Libs when the general election comes around......

The lib-dems confuse me immensely, everyone tells me that they are a dead centre party but just by looking at their policies they appear to be a centre left party, just like Labour & the Tories whose policies all resemble that of a centre left party, which I suppose is good because this leaves the BNP as the only right wing alternative :D
