Open letter to Rahul Gandhi
"I am young and I too have a dream....”
These words by your late father changed my goal; they fired my imagination inspiring me
Then came the storm of mandal, students like me Quit to take part in the anti-mandal agitation. Many of my known were affected, the boy who died in the INA market shooting, the girl who set her self on fire in Chandighar used to live in my neighborhood
We believed the Indian Constitution had foremost enshrined EQUALITY as a fundamental right. We weren’t against Dalits or any other’s we just didn't want to become the new outcastes in our own country but we were by the mandal recommendations, what r the ruling castes they r the ones who control the government n in a democracy the ones with the numbers r the rulers. The upper castes were educated n responded to the call to have less children. Today suffering the consequence of reducing numbers, in the name of vote politics n social justice they r made to suffer, the backlash is not far L K Advani has sensed it n so is espousing the cause of the Forwards. U have in ur party a few guys who don't want our country to become a mediocre one, please listen to them. Reservations encourage mediocrity so find a new way, try economic encouragement as the new mantra u can put a system where the economically weak r given incentives for educating their children. Give more for performance, for higher studies give first preference if equal. If jobs have to be reserved then it should be only one time it should not be extended to promotions. The people who benefit once their family should be barred from taking advantage of it again.
Leaders of today have to decide where they want this country to be : a country that is progressive or mediocre as more n more people who run it become mediocre as the system today is.
I appeal to u take time to think about the future, Rahul it is time for u to become a great leader like ur father and not be afraid of what others say
Give us a new direction, Lead us.
