Once more the reservation issue burst like an shooting star n then fissed out from the public mind
The withdrawal of the agitation from the streets disappointed many amongst us who wanted to see a issue
of such great national importance to finally be debated in full for all its pros n cons by those who mattered
but this break in shrill rhetoric has actually give those who are serious about this issue to gather their resources
before the issue is raised once more n exert more pressure on their representatives in parliament to speak up as only a hand full of brave politicans have dared to go against the flow and even the ones that did were forced by their parties to shut up.
The truth of the matter is simple our govt can not even 60 years after Independence provide Basic Education, employment, food and shelter to the populace.
To escape the warth of people on their sheer indifference to the wellbeing of their constituents they have devised an unique way to convince them of their concern; Just Reserve some seats in jobs what if the jobs are all cornered by a select few, Reserve some seats in Education what if again only a select few gain, further Reserve promotions as those who got the benefits of these reservations are totally incompetent to get promoted on their own.
Who are these select few I keep talking about ?
Have u people been following the news ?
A month ago Laloo Yadav said that what if the reservations are going to benifit people of families like his are they not of the castes for whom reservations are meant ? A few days ago Paswan while crowing about his achivement of preventing the govt from removing the creamy layer from benifiting from the freshly proposed reservation on National Television said that if the creamy layer is removed then only 10% of the seats would be filled as only those with enough recourses could really afford to take advantage of Reservations, i.e.; those who had no need for any help would benifit(mostly relatives and supporters of minister's MPs, MLAs, IAS, IPS, other govt functionaries)
These statements made unwittingly have exposed the truth
The reallity is that the benefits of Reservations are not going to make any difference to the lives of whom they are pourpoted to be imposed, instead this is a back room attempted to reserve for the selected few in favour of those politicians the benefits of progress hard earned inspite of politics not because of it.Tommorow will come a day that they will reserve a part of your hard earned earning s for themselves if this evil is not stopped right now.
Our Founding Fathers must be turning in their Graves
Mahatma Gandhi who fought against discrimination first in South Africa then in our own country, must be crying silent tears in shame of these attempt of dividing society on caste grounds
Jawahar Lal Nehru must be itching to beat these idiots who have attempted to destroy his dream of India with a stick which he would do when crowds would turn unruly he wrote to all the Cheif Ministers of his views on the evil of reservation and the need to remove this blot on our constitution even if the Reservation was only supposedly for 10 years and not perpetually as our present politicians would have us belive.
Rajiv Gandhi made the longest speech in parliamentary history on his vision of India and his views against reservation, a great visionary like him could not stomach the fact that the deserving would be deprived of growth only because them once belonged to upper castes.
Upper Castes were the rulling castes or those castes that held the power to decide on governace in a particular time, today in democracy the ones that have numbers are the ones that hold that power. Who are those they are those castes who are labeled backwards by the present political system when in reality they are the ruling caste's this is an attempt by the present rulers to reserve all benifits for themselves and to garb it in an holy idealistic shroud.
India this very name has for generations inspired Punjabis to make the ultimate sacrifice so that our fellow countrymen may remain safe. Be it the struggle for independence where no one gave up so much as my fellow Punjabis, we lost our home's families livelihood even many lost our lives, even then we struggled without govt support slowly we regained most of what we lost though one thing can never be replaced our land, our mother.
Punjabis have in every war laid down their lives smiling for they knew that their fellow counrtymen would sleep easy because of this. Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Flt Lt Shekhon, Maj Vikram Batra the list is endless, I could go on and on.
Why do I speak of Punjabis when I speak of reservation ?
Can u tell me of on community that lost their entire livelihood their families, their motherland just because they loved their country more ?
Do u now of a more displaced community ?
Do u know of a more Patriotic community ?
Do u know of any community more deserving benefits of reservation by an grateful Nation ?
Do u know of any community that deserved so much, even then no leader of theirs demanded reservation ?
If the answers to the above questions was no then u shall agree to why now i tell u i talk of punjabis.
Sirs, i just want to point out that if this progressive community that were called Refugees in the very country that they formed through their sacrifices could reach the pinnacle of Political, social and financial success without the crutches of Reservation then what is the need for it ?
If reservation can make such a change then why is the need to continue reservations for SC's and ST's even after 60 years ?
If Reservation was such an wonder then why is the lot of downtrodden not improved ?
Why when the govt can not even provide Primary Education to more than 40% of our population then it seek to increase the no of reserved seats ?
How many seats would be actually reaserved, 3000 ?
What great miricale can 3000 seats reserved which only politicans near and dears would enjoy, would do for 30,00,00,000 People ?
Is this not a eye wash ?
Then why reservation why not a rethink in the way we seek to implement this policy ?
Why don't we seek to ensure that the benefits atcually reach those that they are meant for ?
Why don't we frame a Roadmap of implementation and time frame of gradual withdrawal of this policy as those in need of help decrease ?
And finnaly if this policy can not do any thing for the benefit of the downtrodden then drop the pretence, tell us that our rulers want as a right to keep safe for them selves the benefits of civilisation and progress.
