I've recently started a group on Yahoo aimed at getting people all over the United States to set aside any personal issues they may feel strong about and pledge to vote for an Independent/Third Party candidate. I believe the only way we can take our country back is for all parties to be viewed as equal, and the candidates we choose to support will have one thing in common: Voting reform.
Only by breaking the political glass ceiling we live under in this country can we ever hope to regain our freedom. Please visit the group, and if you feel the way I do, please join.

Thank you for your time.

Lee, I think it's a good idea and I wish you luck with it. You should also promote the contribution of money to third parties and third party candidates. Unfortunately, money is the lifeblood of politics. Voting is just not enough.

Money should not be the lifeblood of politics. That is how the Duopoly wants it, and that is how most if not all of us have been conditioned to think.
But it is not how our forefathers wanted it. I do promote contributing to third parties and their candidates, as to beat them at their game we have to play their game.
But I also think it is the poor who are ignoring their right to rule this country. It is the poor who don't turn out to vote. It is the people who think they have no choice, why vote. I aim to see that they get a choice, and getting out the vote will be a HUGE priority. In time, I hope to have enough people in enough places to take it to the street and off of the Internet. But I have to start somewhere.
If we stand 100,000+ strong, they will have to listen whether we have money or not. Join us, Truth_Bringer, and all who really want to make a difference. The ball is in our court.

Lee,
I'm definitely interested and I'll definitely take a look at it. I'm a life member of the Libertarian Party and I recommend that you contact them about your idea. You might try your state party headquarters first. You'll probably find some allies there.

Aaahhh, the state party headquarters. Sad to say, but in Oklahoma there is no such animal. There are obviously Libertarians here, and they countinually struggle for ballot access. In Oklahoma there is only Democrats, Republicans, and Independents. Oklahoma was the only state in which you could not vote for Bednarik(SP). 49 other states had a Libertarian on the ballot. In Oklahoma, you could choose Bush or Gore.
I have been in touch with the party as represented by a website and e-mail addresses. The Vice-Chair praised my idea, but parties have (or at least think they have) much to lose. They are very slow to attach themselves to an unknown or untried.
But I'm not really looking for parties. I'm looking for individuals sick of the status quo. People of any party (there are stipulations for disenchanted Duopoly members) or no party. People so tired they are willing to pledge that no matter how a candidate feels about abortion; no matter how a candidate feels about immigration or social security; if he is charismatic, smart, and has a chance of winning; is about breaking the glass ceiling for all, they will all vote for him. Even if just for spite of the current political system.
We want people who do not vote or have never voted. But many of them are not found in forums like this. I'm visiting more than just political message boards. Got someone from the Christopher Walken Fan Club the other day..:)
Many of them are not found on the Internet. We need Internet and forum people from all over to help reach everyone else.
We are coming.

Wow. Unbelievable. And I thought we had it bad here in Alabama...

Good point.

Cool. Good job. I "converted" about 5 people on another forum to the libertarian philsophy over the last 9 months. I don't know if they'll join the party, but they say they will. I also brought in about 10 more supporters for our Libertarian candidate for governor here in Alabama, just by posting information on the web.

You might want to try the Free State Project also: http://www.freestateproject.org
We are coming.
Yes, we are.

I think it's great that your trying to bring popularity to the third party. But, I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon.
