The Government is considering issuing a "statement of regret" for the slave trade on the 200th anniversary of its abolition, it was confirmed today.

What was done was done. I am a black student in south london and am proud to be British. I think we ALL need to let slavery go. Sure i feel sad about it a lot of bad was done but Britian through its Empire brought a great culture and language to the world. Agree?

Democracy is the greatest friend when trying to pursuit power and the greatest foe when trying to keep it
