North Korea has warned that it would treat the imposition of sanctions as an act of war, as the international community ponders how to respond to the communist state's nuclear test.
China, Pyongyang's closest ally, joined other world powers yesterday in calling for a tough response to North Korea's nuclear experiment, with the county's foreign minister calling for "punitive actions".
But North Korea said this morning that sanctions meet with a violent response.
