| Putin: Extradition Request 'Insulting' Russian President Vladimir Putin has said Britain's demand for the extradition of Andrei Lugovoi is insulting.He called it a "vestige of colonial thinking". The British Government wants to put Mr Lugovoi on trial for the murder of former KGB agent, and British citizen, Alexander Litvinenko. President Putin said: "They must have clearly forgotten that Britain is no longer a colonial power, there are no colonies left and, thank God, Russia has never been a British colony". Moscow refuses to hand Mr Lugovoi over the Britain because it says the Russian constitution will not allow the extradition of Russian citizens. President Putin said: "They are making proposals to change our constitution which are insulting for our nation and our people................
