Exclamation Rapist must wait for sentence

A failed asylum seeker facing up to four years in jail for raping a student in his Bradford flat must now wait until September to learn his fate.
A judge at Leeds Crown Court today adjourned sentencing Nigerian law graduate Victor Giwa-Osagie because of issues raised in his probation report.
Giwa-Osagie, 34, pleaded guilty to rape at Bradford Crown Court last month.

He denied the offence and was due to stand trial but admitted the offence before a jury was sworn in.

Prosecutor Nicholas Askins said the rape occured in Giwa-Osagie's flat in Shaftsbury Avenue, Manningham.

After the attack, a 21-year-old woman made a tearful 999 call to the police.

At Leeds Crown Court, Judge Peter Benson was told that Giwa-Osagie's account of the offence to his probation officer was widely different from the prosecution case against him.

Giwa-Osagie will remain in custody until he is sentenced in mid-September.

My question is, how the hell did he manage to get into University if he is a failed asylum seeker?
