The EU is dominated by France, Germany and Italy at the moment.
Germany has caused 3 Wars in the past 150 years in trying to dominate Europe (Franco-Prussian war 1870-71, WW1 and WW2). After the Second World War, many ex-Nazis got back into positions of political power under the administration of Konrad Adenaur in the 1950s when the German Bundesrepubic government was established. The Germans, especially that Prussian Militiaristic part of Germany has always dominated German politics. That was once of the reasons Soviet Russia was against the re-unification of East and West Germany for years. Russia had suffered catastrophically at the hands of the Germans twice in two World wars. Winston Churchill also wanted to see Germany tied polically and economically into Europe as way of stopping her miliatristic adventuring.
The current situation is different. The Germans will again dominate Europe by guile, stealth and politcal manouvering. They won't need to use military methods. As it is, the Germans have the lagest standing army as part of NATO. Germany has around 300,000 thousand troops under arms, many of them conscripts as against the UK with 100,000 thousand.
Personally I have nothing against Germany or the Germans, as I lived in Germany for a number of years in the 1960s. It is just that that dark part of the German Psyche, that part that wants to dominate others is still there. Maybe they want to re-establish a form of 'Holy Roman Empire' with Germany at the centre of things and the rest of Europe as junior partners.
Conspiracy theory, or a possibility when the German Chancellor Angla Merkel is in the process of pushing through the EU Constitution once again. B'Liar and Brown have already signed away British soveriegnty and those 'Red Lines' of Mr Browns are not worth diddly-squat. The EU will have its way, and it will be too late to do anything about it. We will have been conned and lied to by Labour and Conservative Politicians for years, and we just swallow the 'Bull-droppings' that they feed us.
Oh! Sigh! I had better go and make myself another mug of Java, and get on with relearning Meinen Deutche Worter Sprach!
