International space organization

Space, the final frontier... There are no place on the surface of the earth that man haven't conqered, so we turn our attetion to the skies, and the stars beond. Since the war, there have only been one great leap for mankind: the moon landing. that was 40 years ago, long before anything, the world had no "speed", the combined prossesing power of the computers of the earth back then is only a fraction of that in my cellphone today, and back then we put, or the US did, put a man on the moon. and all that money, and research, and effort, amounted to nothing, it was only a PR stunt, and a moral booster.

If the world, or part of it, back i the seventies had joined to colonize and explore the solar system, we whould have facillities on the moon, colonies on mars, (parhaps even started terraforming mars), and we would have mines on asteroids. this is all technologicly easy, and rather cheap, in the long run.

but where was the will, the sense of adventure and recklesness, it was not there, and big companies did not see any potential in space. but now there are governments and privat companies that wants a chunk of space, to make money of. and why do we not cooperate, in stead diffrent countries have separat space programs. If the world join to pool all space resources and do things the easy way then we could have a constant space presence, with as much as 1000 people within 20 years. to build a spacestation with artificial gravity, (spinning wheel), it whould have to be LARGE, it must have a radius close to 500 meters, (1500ft). this whould be expensive as hell, but if we just DID IT, we could make mining crafts, and spacecrafts, to use in space, they whould be chead since an airtight box with an engine whould sufice.

This is not possible, since the nations, and companies don't want to cooparate, since exclusive rights to space will in 50-100 years time will be wourth trillions. We must create an International Fleet, or Starfleet, or "something" that have global jurisdiction, recruitment, and funding, indipentent from ALL nations, corporations, and organisations on earth. We cannot continue to stay "at hom" since we don't have the resources to feed all humans NOW, and in 20 years overpopulation will get a serious problem.
