Exclamation Respect Party in Meltdown! (It just gets better!)

For those of us who witnessed George Galloway strutting his stuff at the anti-free speech demonstration in Oxford, the latest news on the Respect Party comes as no great surprise.

In the current issue of ‘Red Pepper’ we find the article: ‘Respect: Car Crash On The Left‘. This is how Galloway describes the unravelling of this bizarre multi-cult coalition of the ‘totalitarians’: “A spectacular car crash“.

The Red Pepper article goes on to explain: “The SWP [the Socialist Workers Party, the biggest group within Respect] described it as a left-right split, saying that Galloway and his allies had moved right, chasing Muslim votes for the expected snap election, and had then attacked and witch-hunted the left. The other side dismissed this as fantasy, instead slamming the SWP leadership for its control freakery.”

What we are seeing, in reality, is a demonstration (in a relatively small way) of the way in which multi-cult experiments always end in chaos and failure.

More about the in-fighting, back-stabbing and infantile squabbling on what is clearly the demise of the Respect Party can be found in the Dec/Jan 2008 issue of Red Pepper - £3.95 at all good newsagents.
