Only look at our overseas allies!

It is quite reasonable that each Briton wants to see own country as a strong state. And here I agree with Sir John Rose, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce, who has recently published a curious article in the Financial Times, that current structure of our economy makes Britain extremely vulnerable to any economic depression. For instance, negative effects of US credit crisis develop in our national economy every week now. And it’s all along of our great enthusiasm for service-based economy, where manufacturing plays a lesser role than before.
But we should realize that in this case we increase chances of losing height in pace of UK economy’s development that leads us to the peak of economic instability! So if our present government is really interested in returning our country the status of an industrial leader, which has always made us powerful in the world, G. Brown should stop to review our manufacturing as a survival of times past and should begin to restore previous balance between manufacturing and services in our economy in fact, not in word.
Only look at our overseas allies! Their main advantage in economic sphere is strong positions in industrial activities and impressive trade balance on industrial goods!
