| Armed Forces personnel will be encouraged to wear their uniforms in public as part of a drive to improve the relationship between the military and the general public. Senior commanders will be advised to urge all personnel to wear them with pride when off duty, even in bars and nightclubs. Premiership football clubs, amusement parks and holiday companies will be asked to offer discounts to soldiers. The measures are among the recommendations of a report into improving the image of the Armed Forces which, The Daily Telegraph understands, the Government has accepted in full. The aim is to improve the morale of soldiers who feel they have been victimised as a result of the conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan. Soldiers in uniform to get cash discounts - Telegraph As it should be any person who serves in the Armed Forces of this country should wear their uniform in public with pride . They have no say on where they are sent or on the legitimacy of the conflicts they fight in , they have no reason to feel ashamed . Those that abuse them are idiots there vitriol should be aimed at the Government . I believe it is common for US armed forces to receive discounts for many services products and events i hope it catches on here. |
