Two of nine people arrested over alleged disorder at a protest march in Bedfordshire have been charged and one has been given a fixed penalty fine.

The march in support of the armed forces took place in Luton on Sunday.
Police said a man was charged with possessing an offensive weapon after stones were found in his pockets.

A woman was charged with breaching an anti-social behaviour order and another man was given an £80 fixed penalty notice for a public order offence.

The man charged over the stones will appear at Luton Magistrates' Court in due course, Bedfordshire Police said.

The other six people arrested, all men, have been bailed without charge pending further inquiries.

Earlier this year Muslim demonstrators protested during the Royal Anglian Regiment's homecoming parade in Luton.

Police said up to 400 people set off on a planned peaceful protest on Sunday in response to the earlier demonstration.

Officers said an Asian man was assaulted, a shop window was smashed and several cars were damaged in the town centre after a group broke away.

Bedfordshire Police said officers were studying CCTV footage and that further arrests could be made in the coming days.

If there are race riots this summer, I can guess, the ethnicity of the majority of those arrested, it certainly will not be the Muslims. I have been reading the newspapers and the march for Sunday 24th MAY was applied for and refused ! Yet the Muslims seemed to get away with calling our soldiers butchers/murderers etc also those loony people with bagged heads took photographs of the soldiers, scary or what. Why are Muslims allowed to get away with such behaviour ?

A Muslim man said that Muslims had suffered this sort of racism for years, yeah, right, it has taken years for the average Brit to wake up and see just how the law of this land favours Muslims. Muslims have been so put down over the last ten years by the nasty indigenous Brits, yet they manage to increase their numbers by 400,000 births ! Why, want your children to live in such a racist country, because it is lies all lies, Muslims live the life of Riley here and don't they know it.

Most Brits want fair play and justice to be done and seen to be done, not one rule for the Muslims and another for us.

Best news I've heard all day. The British standing up for themselves and not bowing to muslim oppression. If i knew it was happening i would of gone myself. We dont publicly show enough solidarity with our fellow brits and our much maligned troops as we should. Good on them!

Its high time we stopped being spoken of by our political masters as the most tolerant peole in the world.

Being a nice person and thinking everyone is nice wont change the real situation, which is, we obviously are not getting along with each other, hence all the agro (generally speaking, as ever).
