There is perhaps a need to clarify where I stand in relation to the history of Marxism and Socialism. Calling myself 'Marxist Nutter' has led to some understandable confusion on the matter. I will attempt to remedy this with a very brief sketch of the Marxist tradition with which I empathize.

Many debates I have had on this forum about socialism, tend to drift very quickly to national concerns. Now avoiding the obvious and unhelpful puns we could make about national socialism, I would like to pose a question.

Even the mention of the idea of legalizing drugs starts many people frothing at the mouth, quick to scream and shout about the dangers of drugs. But these are the very people that should be interested in some arguments for legalization. I am not going to dispute that drugs have a harmful affect on many people's lives - they do. Letter to local newspaper.

This is a letter of reply to a letter written by a Labour parlimentary candidate in a local newspaper. I was forced to keep it shorter than I would have liked. His origin letter claimed Labour were tough on crime.

In response to Julian Ware-Lane the Labour parliamentary candidate for castle point I feel his views are misleading that Labour are tough on crime.
I suspect the recently released statistics mentioned are taken from the British Crime Survey (BCS) the results obtained...
