Indeed, good choice sir.
I'm sure everyone knows it really, but don't believe 95% of what you see in the typical Google Page Ranking images of models and celebs! The amount of photo-editing which goes on is quite astounding at times, and having seen a fair number of some very well known faces 'au naturelle' as it were, you could walk right by many of them in the street and not give them a second glance.
There are some exceptions of course, one who immediately springs to mind is Izabel Goulart, one of the Victoria's Secrets lingerie models, who I got to know quite well when she first started modelling in London 4 or 5 years ago, and stayed with my step-daughter in her apartment for about 3 months. Even straight out of bed she was gorgeous (and just in case any red-blooded males are wondering, the answer's no).
Having spent a fair amount of time in model agencies, on photo-shoots and watching some of the post-shoot studio work that goes on, I'll never look at another publicity photo again without suppressing a wry smile and thinking "oh yeah"!

And here is miss Goulart for everyone to understand what Midas is talking about:

OK I considered mounting some sort of protest as to the pornographic nature of this thread and my disappointment at you all. But then I thought no fight fire with fire, the choice is pretty poor for hot male bods and you know what? My boat is floated more by a certain type of cerebral man, I'm definately more agirl (perhaps I have a Father complex?) Denise Richards do you not think she'd be a bit high maintanence?

I want to see a model who will be brave enough to have their pictures taken in natural light - As I am sure you all know natural light can make you look better, however, it can also make you look worse at it shows the creases and bumps in your skin.
That I'll quite go along with; as I pointed out right at the start of this thread, so many images of actresses/models are so heavily retouched that you could walk right by them in the street and not recognise them. If someone looks good enough straight out of bed in the morning, they'll look more than good enough when all dolled up. Not that I personally like to see more than a hint of makeup on women, far too many seem to trowel it on so thickly that it''s a right turn off!
But getting back to floating your boat, how about Lisa Snowdon?
If she was good enough for George Clooney, she's good enough for me, and at 38 she still looks pretty fitI have a feeling she's at the same agency that my step-daughter's at; I'll have to see what I can do! Well, we can all dream can't we

Oh don't me started on the lollipops - my daughter's friend thinks its normal for women to be a size zero! She's only 11 and constantly watches what she eats in case she 'gets fat'. My daughter, thank God, thinks she's nuts - I only hope she continues to think that.
Do you hear that? That's the sound of no one caring - anon
That's the negative side of the power of the media for youLike your daughter, you'd think that most girls would have the sense to realise that that wasn't the case by simply looking around her. I find it rather ironic though that many of the same teen magazines carry surveys which say that the majority of lads would rather see a curvy girl than a stick insect, yet somehow that irony doesn't penetrate the minds of most girls.
Unfortunately that isn't always the case by a long chalk! I've had several long discussions on this subject with quite a few of my step-daughter's friends and with her boyfriend, who owns one of the other big London model agencies, and one of the prime criteria for fashion models, particularly catwalk models, is a rather undefinable quirkiness. If you look at a lot of the really top models they're certainly not what you'd call beautiful, several of them you wouldn't really even call particularly attractive, but they all have a certain presence, a certain je ne sais quoi. Even after having been exposed to the business for years I still can't pick out the girls who'll do well on the catwalk, but then I'm undoubtedly looking for different things
When she first started modelling some 7 years ago, my step-daughter was told quite bluntly that she was 'too classically pretty' to ever make it to the top in the catwalk world and to concentrate on photographic work for fashion and accessories promotion work and for advertising instead. This she's done, very successfully and it's taken her all over the world, but for a lot of girls to be told that it must come as quite a shock!
I've also had several long discussions about the size zero issue and throughout the modelling industry the general opinion is that it's wrong, but that "we're in the hands of our clients, and if that's what they want, that's what they get. If we make a stand, we'll simply lose business, period". What can you say?
Incidentally, for those itching to know what she's like, this is my step-daughter:-
I think she's rather lovely, but then perhaps I'm biased![]()

Well that's good news for us fatties.I know my husband prefers me with, as he says, "more meat on your bones". he said recently that he thought I was way too skinny when we first met. I was 7 stone and 5'5"; I have to say I was alright about the way I looked but it was a nightmare maintaining that weight.
Although I've lost about 4st due to health reasons so I'm not as fat as I was; I must say I do prefer the curvier women than the lollipops as role models for our children - the Beyonce's rather than the Beckham. I think the former is a much better model for young girls to look up to rather than the emaciated looking Beckham.
So to hear that my husband is not alone in sharing that opinion is brilliant.![]()

Oh I should've done as my OH LOVES her! Mind you, she's pretty, curvy and seems like great fun - what's not to like from a male point of view? LOL!
My OH likes Cobie Smulders (Robin Scherbatsky in 'how I met your mother'):

As for me there's always Michael Fassbender:

No, its me but I will pass on the joke - she'll find it brilliant as she really can't stand bimbos. She asked me a few weeks ago why we all call some women that name, she said we should just call them dimbos (because they are) and be honest. LOL!
I bet they'd sell - well, except for the way they made you goosestep down the high street.Hitlers High Heels coming to a store near you.
Ah see now I sympathise as I'm only a hobbit size myself. How do I know this? My daughter is only 11 and is already nearly as tall as me. In fact she nearly takes the same size shoes as me - she's a 2 and I'm a 3.Hehe Kim Jong Il is so short![]()
Mind you, why do short men insist on wearing lifts in their shoes? Tom cruise is alleged to do the same. It's a bit like comb overs on balding men, or should that be follically challenged men, do they honestly believe no one will notice?

Marj Simpson, surely
As this thread has been seemingly revived I'll chime in. LA, you mention Holly Willoughby, which reminds me of a note that appeared in The Mail On Sunday (I know...why? but anyway) last year, Ms Willoughby was asked who do you think will win, John McCain or Barack Obama?
Her answer. "Who are They?"
No really. To me at least she seems to have the Tess Daly 'dead behind the eyes' look increasingly common in TV presenters.
