Subject: Compulsory OAP cremation-powered power plants
We all know in the UK we are dependant upon other countries for our fuel and power.
But, why don't we resolve the issue ourselves?
Britain is abundent in Old Age Pensioners, and this renewable source will never run out.
When the Old die, rather than being buried and using up more land for cemeteries, they should be cremated in state owned power plants. That way, not only are we not using up land for cemeteries, but we are also powering our country.
The remains that are left over are the ashes which can be used as compost.
This sort of bold thinking will create a system of of very cheap power without the environmental impacts caused by coal, gas, oil and nuclear.

I've heard of blue sky thinking but this is way way way on the outer edge of the stratosphere (assuming you were being serious). You were lucky to get any sort of reply !
I'd have to take that with a very large pinch of salt if for no other reason than it takes a considerable amount of energy to burn a human body; they're not exactly composed of the sorts of material which would immediately spring to mind for say running your heating system.
"Hang on a moment dear, I'm just going out to get another leg to throw on the fire"![]()
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S. Lewis
Yes I was joking. Though burning bodies for fuel is plausable in a waste to energy plant, it is ethically and morally wrong.
I believe I got a reply because Greg has received tons of emails from me, all of which set out plans and research for his energy team in regards to cheaper more efficient means of energy, waste disposal etc.
My last one mixed energy, waste disposal, jobs, finance and food all in one![]()
