Well I have finally repaired my computer by installing the last of the drivers.
Obviously I was initially happy that I finally had sound on my computer. However, this enjoyment was weakened by the fact that I have now remembered how much I hate sound on a computer.
Bleep... What bloody now... Its only a bloody confirmation button stop your bloody beeping you beeping little beep!!!

Actually your comment brings to mind something that's long puzzled me, and that's the way that so many people can't tell the poor sound quality of most digital equipment, whether it's direct from a computer, an MP3 player, DAB radios or a cheap hi-fi (that's an oxymoron!).
To me it sticks out like a sore thumb, no matter what kind of music is being played; is part of this problem, if it is indeed 'a problem', simply down to the fact that most people these days just haven't listened to anything on even a half-decent system?

I know. People forget that MP3s are usually only 10% of the sound quality of a CD. Its fine through headphones or in a car but on a decent stystem you can really hear the difference. Of course, everyone knows that nothing sounds as good as Vinyl.
And nothing sounds worse than people listening to music through the speakers on their mobiles.

Agreed on both counts, however I for one find it a great shame that so many people seem to have never heard music, and I don't care what sort of music it is, at anywhere near the quality at which it was recorded. I bet there's a substantial percentage of today's teenagers who have never listened to music other than on their MP3 players or on cheap digital stereos
Whilst I accept that vinyl played on a good analogue system can sound much warmer, as to whether it's 'better' or not is somewhat subjective. The system I have back at home is a full digital one, right up to the output from the amplifiers mounted within each speaker box, and the quality of it is superb.
