    BNP Website

The BNP's website is down (its 10:30 am here in the UK on Sunday 25th May).

Has the site been tampered with perhaps or is this routine maintenance?

The British National Party website has been under a sustained Denial of Service attack since around 17:30 BST, Sunday.  We are doing everything possible to bring the website back online.  Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience.

I think that means their service provider cut them off...

DOS attacks usually come from outside.

    I wasn't thinking of a DOS attack.

I was thinking, by the term Denial of Service, that there service was terminated. and the BNP use the term attack too much...

Its under a sustained denial of service attack. Probably anti fascist groups masking their IP addresses. They say the attack is eminating from eastern europe and russia. Must be using a proxy. It comes after this story in the independant:

BNP attracts more clicks than all other major parties - UK Politics, UK - The Independent

and other media sources reporting a massive surge in BNP website activity. Thats democracy for you, When a third party can interfere in a election, and be allowed to do so by the establishment.

This is a bit much. I wish the BNP would stop playing the victim. Thousands of sites suffer DOS attacks for all sorts of reasons. The BNP are not that special, sorry.

A DOS attack doesn't necessary mean it's the ISP doing the work.. more like a hacker!

taken from the deputy leaders website.....

''The main BNP website is currently down due to a massive Denial of Service Attack. The site was attacked last night, at one point dealing with 28 million hits, but we managed to block out the traffic which was emanating from Eastern Europe and Russia.

The size of the assault today is unparalleled and there is no doubt that whoever has organised this has had to pay out a serious amount of money to the criminal underworld.

On Friday the servers of Clear Channel, part of a huge conglomerate that provides billboard advertising, suffered a similar attack. Their IT professionals tracked the criminal activity back to a notorious "anti-fascist" organisation openly aligned to the Labour Party and supported by the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats. This organisation was protesting at the decision by Clear Channel to allow the BNP to display advertising in support of our European Election Campaign.

As a consequence of the criminal actions against Clear Channel we understand that their legal team is currently in the process of issuing writs against the perpetrators which as well as civil actions will involve the possibility of potential criminal charges including racketeering.

I'll keep you all informed about the above''
    from the BNP chronicle website..............

    Update.

Largest DOS attack ever directed at the BNP site. Yesterday's attack consisted of a concentrated burst of 28 million hits - Today's is exceeding this number, and has resulted in the loss of access to the servers.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Update

Web team working to access the servers to resolve the issue.

(The ‘Denial Of Service’ attacks are acts of Terrorism as defined under Section 1 ( 2 ) ( e ) of the Terrorism Act 2000.)

    Sit tight.
The attacks coincided with the BNPs appearance on BBC at 7pm on Sunday. Hardly a coincidence.
