What a terrific idea!
I did my masters through the OU and it was a good way of just keeping my mind sharp. I had been considering a new degree course, but this sounds way better and way cheaper

For anyone who might be interested in home study to degree level in a range of subjects, although without the normal university facilities and without a degree at the end of it, the Open University have a scheme called Open Learn whereby they've made all the material from their normal course available online, totally free of charge, to anyone who wants it. Support forums are however available.
Further details are available from Open Learn - The Open University.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S. Although you don't actually get the degree at the end of it! But I guess that's fine if it's just study for your own interest. The only sticking point I can see is that learning without professional guidance can sometimes be a great deal harder, especially if subjects which actually need expert help to explain details or subtleties are involved; sometimes you do need someone to physically show you how something works or to explain how to do something. But yes, given it's all for free and there are student support forums available you can hardly complain.

Educations is not just a joking stuff but i dont what some people think, but at the end of the day, when other people sees some in education the ''Envy'' persist, every being knows what they want in educating themself which is personal, but a coherent education from a competent degree institute is better than a lame duck education university or othewise, but if they're actually trying to know more, i dont think basket is here for them.
Education is good really most especially when you're higher institution of learning, the brain will be filled coherently.
Cloud Nine.
I am hoping I have what you are saying wrong. Are you calling the OU a 'lameduck'?
If so, then I would take issue with that. As someone with a degee from Oxford, I chose to do my Masters at the OU for pleasure, along with a few other courses just for interest afterwards.
There is a joy of learning in the students of the OU that far exceeds that I have found elsewhere
I suspect that what Angelcountry means is that in the professional world certain degrees from certain universities are more sought after than from others. For instance if you have a law degree from the OU (assuming they offer one) you'd be hard pushed to get a job with a large law firm in competition with other applicants with a law degree from say Oxford or LSE or Aberdeen.

You'll actually practise law where, equal opportunit is often proclaim or put in practise otherwise problem may errupt in the job market.
Apart from that, midas, when you demonstrated your ability to argue in the proper context they get intimidated, is like when you get to know your constitutional right as a former smoker theres always a ''death'' tendencies, they often kill you prematurelly, is like one of my friends that went to the means of lions in four years ago studying legal studies one year full-time course in a vocational college, they got threatened and kill the africa man by the lions, i wonder where all those indigenous student are now, nothing you can get to say to defend yourself than them first ?
So, we also have to address the inequality, and duplication of typed statement to create error, but the director will know as time goes on to create drunkiness in the filling context, God knows best.
Sometimes they often tell us that , the work is too advance for the standard.
Cloud Nine.
In fact i have just signed up for another OU course.
