David Davis by election circus?

"David Davis will face 25 bizarre by-election rivals, it emerged yesterday.

Novelty contenders like the Church of the Militant Elvis Party, and Mad-Cow girl have flocked to take part in the July 10th poll. Miss Great Britain Gemma Garrett, conspiracy crackpot David Icke and Make Polititians History are also part of the largest field to stand in a by-election.

Sources said it also confirmed the fear of Tory boss David Cameron- who is to campaign for Mr Davis- that the fight for the Yorkshire Haltemprice and Howden seat would descend into a circus." Daily Mirror quote.
