Britain must sign up to an agreement that would open its borders to anyone travelling from Europe without a passport or visa, the mayor of Calais has insisted.
As riot police began tearing down another illegal camp in Calais, the French authorities admitted yesterday they are fighting a losing battle against migrants desperate to reach the UK.
Calais mayor Natacha Bouchart has placed the blame squarely on Britain for not signing up to the Schengen agreement.

There are several issues here.

1. How hippocritical of the French to attack Britain for looking after its national interest. The only thing the French do is look after their national interest
2. If the French do not like the International Law why did they sign up to it?
3. They shouldn't have signed up to the Schengan agreement

Personally, France can go to hell. Britain should not, nor should Britain ever accept these immigrants.

I am a Francophile, and indeed have a home there. One of the several aspects I do admire about the French Government is their willingness to stand up for French interests. I do wish a British Government would be as guilty of this self-interest as the French.

It is not in Britain's interests to accept any immigrants unless they are able to make a positive contribution to our very over crowded country, and/or face genuine danger in their own country and are therefore bona fide asylum seekers.

We therefore remind the French that European Law requires that immigrants seek asylum in the country of arrival, not the one with the easiest benefit system to defraud, and the most remunerative black economy (sorry perhaps I should say 'officially not recognised economy' or some such PC rubbish). We then smile sweetly and continue to refuse entry ( to all intents and purposes a diplomatic version of f*** off)
