Greg is often going on about the evils of Zionism.
Actually, I don't get it, as I thought I was a Christian Zionist.

I've been trying to figure out if I am, wondering about definitions etc.

Zionism - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Sorry that it is wikipedia.
Zionism - definition of Zionism by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.
A Jewish movement that arose in the late 19th century in response to growing anti-Semitism and sought to re-establish a Jewish homeland in Palestine. Modern Zionism is concerned with the support and development of the state of Israel.
I'm not a Jew (as far as I know it) but I do support this, so I think I might be a Zionist.
However, I don't feel particularly evil.

    Any other Zionists out there?

    nope.

I would suggest Christian Zionist is probably the most appropriate label for you. Rather you than me pal.

Barry I really hope that you are not a Zionist as Zionists are BAD people.

    Intersting site regarding Zionism

Judaism believes in One G-d who revealed the Torah. It affirms Divine Providence and, accordingly, views Jewish exile as a punishment for sin. Redemption may be achieved solely through prayer and penance. Judaism calls upon all Jews to obey the Torah in its entirety including the commandment to be patriotic citizens.
Zionism rejects the Creator, His Revelation and reward and punishment. Among its fruits are the persecution of the Palestinian people and the spiritual and physical endangering of the Jewish people. It encourages treasonous, dual loyalty among unsuspecting Jews throughout the world. At its root Zionism sees reality as barren and desacralized. It is the antithesis of Torah Judaism.

Re: Am I a Zionist? Are you a Zionist?

    Hi,

I can understand and accept other people's superstitions as with Torah Judaism or even secular Judaism for as long as they do not seek to proselatise particularly myself.

I totally repudiate Zionism which is a political form of expansionist and frequently fascist behaviour associated with Judaism but not of Judaism and doing much to defile and damage the reputation of decent Jews.

You will find many web sites seeking to distance Judaism from the evils and the state sponsored terrorism of Zionism. Particularly in view of the obscene behaviour of Zionists in the persecution of the peoples of Palestine in their reprehensible behaviour in displacing them from their land and homes.

I can think of no greater single force for evil than mankind's determination to invent gods to blame, shame and worship.

    Regards,
    Greg L-W.

Re: Am I a Zionist? Are you a Zionist?

I think there is a confusion here between a spiritual meaning of Zionism and a political meaning of the same word.
I don't have too much time now, I may post again on this later. Interesting replies so far, thanks.

Interestingly enough, that quote is wrong.

And no, Zionists aren't bad people, for example I would consider myself a Liberal Zionist, which is one of the largest groups of Zionism, indeed a majority of Israelis would consider themselves Liberal Zionists. We simply believe that a two state solution is possible, and believe the Palestinians have a right to a soverign state, but not at the expense of Israel nor endangering its security.

Re: Am I a Zionist? Are you a Zionist?

Zion designates the land of Israel, particularly Jerusalem and especially Mount Zion (near Jerusalem) knowan as the City of David.
If Israelis are Zionists, that is to be expected - that they support their land, country and heritage, surely?

As far as the Bible goes, I think that Zion generally refers to Jerusalem.
Revelation 21 talks of a future new heaven and earth, and a new Jerusalem. The new city is prepared as the eternal home for those that are saved. Although the King James version of the Bible does not use the word Zion, it has been traditionally and poetically referred to as Zion.

We are all Zionists, if we are Christian or Muslim as Christ, the mad prophet, was a Jew and ....technically, Arabs are decendants of the Empire of Soloman or Suleman a Jewish Emperor.

Putting that aside as Religion and Politics are the annihilation of civilation. What we have are two civilisations bent on each others destruction. Why? because somebody wants these people to destroy each other .... as most people want to live at ease and in peace who or what is pushing them to this mass destruction. Identify and Eliminate the 'pushers' and we may resolve the proplem.

One of the truest things that you've said here Greg, and something I whole-heartedly agree with.

But both Judaism and Zionism and all they represent are based on lies; there was no such thing as a 'promised land', there have been no mass migrations (nor any exodus) of people to the ancient land of Israel, and the major characters in both the Torah and the Bible relating to this are largely fictitious. The latest archaeological evidence from within Israel and Palestine, and now supported by bodies like as the Israeli Antiquities Authority, clearly shows that the first Israelites were simply disaffected people from the land of Canaan who slowly migrated into the mountains inland from the major Canaanite city states during a time when they became indolent and socially divided. Over time these people simply adopted stories from travellers to their land, finally resulting in little more than an invented racial history, which has be played upon ever since.
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S. Lewis

The jews created 'slave morality' ie a God, as a protection against their slave masters. As the slave owners could brutalise their bodies the only defence they could have is that " Their God" would would accept them in 'Paradise', Pharoh saw that his people were coming under the persuasion of this God and banished them. The rest is, as you say, a load of bloody rollacks, just like politics.
