| The Truth According to Julie and Babs On 7 June 2008, The Daily Mail featured an interview with Julie Spence, the Chief Constable of Cambridgeshire. The Chief Constable cited the cost of translation services for the 90-plus languages now spoken in her district thus: Quote:

The truth? That’ll be a first then. Barbara Follett, New Labour MP for Stevenage and a member of Unite Against Fascism, was born Barbara Hubbard in Jamaica. She spent some time in Ethiopia, where her alcoholic father was a close business associate of Emperor Haile Selasse, before moving to South Africa. Of this time she says: Quote:
Moving to England, she studied at that hotbed of Marxist philosophy, the London School of Economics, as have so many other left-wing politicos down the years. She has been married four times and is currently the wife of thriller writer, Ken Follett. The archetypal champagne socialists, the Folletts, who own homes in Stevenage, Chelsea, Antigua and Tuscany, are close friends of the Blairs and have helped raise substantial funds for New Labour. Follett pioneered presentation training in the Labour Party, teaching senior Labour figures some of the requirements of a TV and fashion conscious age. So closely associated was she with this smartening-up of the New Labour politician that the process has become known as "folletting". In the financial year 2003-2004, Follett spent £275,695 as the MP for Stevenage. She says that two thirds of this amount went on paying her staff. So, when Follett was a backbench MP and had no ministerial responsibilities, she spent over £180,000 on staff. Enough for 12 people on £16,000 a year. Why did she need so many people working for her? Were they sniffing out dissent? Thought-policing? Spreading the World Order's word? You decide. Follett, who is a member of the Britain in Europe Council, signed two of the three most important EDMs signalling her desire to have the Euro replace the Pound as Britain's currency. On the other hand, she never signed any EDM requesting that the UK be allowed a referendum on the proposed European constitution, even though a May 2003 EDM suggested that "84% of British voters would wish to have a referendum on the issue". Follett voted on two occasions to lower the homosexual age of consent to 16 and voted to allow the adoption of children by homosexual couples. She also voted against an amendment which would have allowed parents a greater say over the content of sex education in the schools that their children attend and voted against an amendment which sought to retain Section 28, which banned Local Authorities from promoting homosexuality. She voted AGAINST a motion which opposed government plans to cut student funding and FOR a higher education bill which sought to introduce “top-up” fees for university students in England. Follett also voted for the establishment of Foundation hospitals in all four of the most important Commons divisions. She voted to introduce legislation allowing government health agencies to force water companies in England and Wales to add fluoride to drinking water. She also signed an Early Day Motion which encouraged the extended use of fluoride in the national water supply. Follett signed an EDM proposing that the vacant fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square should be occupied by a statue of Nelson Mandela. However, she did not sign an EDM that proposed that a statue recognising the service and sacrifice of British seafarers in defence of the United Kingdom be erected upon the empty plinth. Nor did she sign an EDM that proposed that a statue which recognised "the important and historic contribution made by the manual working class workers of this country", and called upon "the Mayor of London's Advisory Group to recommend the erection of a statue to the manual working class on the fourth plinth in Trafalgar Square". Follett also signed a good few Early Day Motions sympathetic to and supportive of asylum seekers, refugees and immigrants, within and/or seeking to gain entry to the UK. However, she did not sign an EDM critical of Abdullah Azad, of the Welfare Centre, Manchester, who had offered to sell UK passports to those whose immigration status was in question. Follett voted to decriminalise cannabis and, in January 2006, voted to introduce another raft of racial and religious hatred legislation. This legislation was intended to further protect the Muslim population of Britain. Thus, at a time when Muslims were blowing people up in Britain and waving placards threatening to behead those who criticised the prophet, Follett voted for yet another law intended to bear down upon the native, white population of these islands. She also signed an EDM commemorating Stephen Lawrence. However, she never signed an EDM commemorating her own constituent, Marjorie Heskins. Marjorie was killed by hit-and-run driver Nadeem Younas. In fact, Follett has never signed an EDM commemorating any of the many indigenous Britons killed by first and second-generation immigrants, since Stephen Lawrence's death. According to The Evening Standard of 14 January 2004: Quote:
Follett voted to go to war on all five occasions in the 2002-2003 series of Commons divisions that led to the invasion of Iraq. She also voted for the military action that led to led to the widespread bombing of Iraq in 1998 and voted against an amendment which sought to prevent the invasion of Afghanistan. However, she did not sign a 2002 Early Day Motion which asked "everyone to support the Poppy Appeal in remembering the sacrifices that have been made" by the British military over the years. Follett signed an Early Day Motion, introduced since New Labour came to power, which eulogised and commended Holocaust Memorial Day. However, she did not sign an EDM which acknowledged that: Quote:
Follett didn't even bother to sign an EDM acknowledging “the extermination of one million Armenians by the Ottoman ire in 1915”, a genocide which, unlike the Ukranian holocaust, has not been erased from the history books. Nor did she sign an EDM which condemned the Israeli Army for the deliberate shooting of 21-year-old Englishman, Tom Hurndall, “whilst helping Palestinian children escape gunfire from an Israeli army watchtower”. Follett voted for a complete ban on hunting with dogs and signed several of the most important EDMs, introduced since New Labour came to power, which signalled abhorrence of the practice. However, she did not sign an EDM which criticised "the profound suffering caused to many millions of animals every year by slaughter without prestunning". This EDM informed MPs that over 90% of animals slaughtered for consumption by the Muslim community are now prestunned, which implies that the majority of the cruelty associated with ritual slaughter in the UK, now occurs because of the custom and practice of Jewish orthodoxy. Which is interesting. You see, on being sent to an all-girl state school in the upper-class South African suburb of Sea Point, Follett said this: Quote:
We don't like it very much either. Barbara Follett and Julie Spence are pictured below: ......
