Star struck in head at Bradford club

Jo O'Meara, who was caught up in last year's Celebrity Big Brother race row, was struck on the head by a glass hurled from a crowd as she performed in a Bradford nightclub.

The 29-year-old S Club 7 singer was left with a head wound and had to be helped off stage at the newly opened Tokyo nightclub, according to reports.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and remains in police custody."

A national newspaper reported that O'Meara was taken to hospital but was later allowed to return to her London home following the reunion tour gig which involved two other bandmates from the original S Club 7 line-up - Bradley McIntosh and Paul Cattermole.

O'Meara told the newspaper: "We were all having a great time until the incident and would like to apologise to fans that our set was cut short."
Last year's Celebrity Big Brother race storm attracted the most complaints in Ofcom's history.

The media watchdog said that about 45,000 complaints were received over the furore surrounding treatment of Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty by O'Meara, Jade Goody and Danielle Lloyd during the Channel 4 programme

Did they not do any research and discover just what the level of clientele is frequenting Bradford city centre these days?

So much for having a strict door policy at Tokyo's and keeping out the scum. All good intentions though ey! The majority of people will still be going to Leeds for their nights out I think, I know I will.

Yes agree, except I use the term 'music' a little more carefully!

    Question

Very loose interpretation of the word 'star' there Trevor.

I read the original story about strictly in the News of the World, and I've gotta say, it has very little substance to it. None of the people it suggests were kicked out on racial grounds comment on the story, and the only person who in fact does comment on the issue is John Regis. I have this horrible image of the paper calling all these different balck celebs until someone shouts "I can get John Regis, on the record!" and then someone else saying "Oh. He'll do." I don't think that people watching Strictly Come Dancing have a racial agenda, therefore the purpose of the story is quite questionable...

Yes, I agree with what you say. But it is getting a little bit annoying and rather monotonous that everything these days gets wrapped up in 'race'. Footy, Motor Racing even a poxy dance competition.

Self-segregation is not an option in a society, either you are a full player with a full stake in the society you live, or you are not.

Colour blind is colour blind and I reckon people were more colour blind ten, twenty, fifty years ago than today because of instututional meddling. It helps nobody.

Jo was the dark haired S Clubber, wasn't she? I know that Hannah was the blonde one...

*never listened to S Club in her life.......I swear*
    In the dark
    Captured in his frozen heart
    Colours fade into grey
    She tried so hard
    Every word was torn apart
Shot her down with poisoned darts
Her tears made her swim beneath the sea.
    She's free.

Well im no fan but i remember them, im pretty sure Joe when she was in S Club 7 had blond hair, shes taller than the others. But bear in mind im thinking back to many years ago, they all could have dyed their hair. Google S Club 7 and, best way of knowing which one it is.

Just dont forget to delete your internet browsing history after... Dont want your friends seeing you been browsing S Club 7.

The uproar follows Rising Damp star Don Warrington and M People singer Heather Small coming bottom in the public vote last Sunday after performing BETTER than three white celebs.
Sais who? THEM? All these that compülain obviously think they are better than the judges on the spot. Why do they not apply fore the job instead of just sitting there counting their dole money to see if they can afford ANOTHER bottle of white lightning?
