Deleting Criminal Records

If anyone was in doubt that the slippery slope of liberality in law and order is increasing, the Independent Commission [police records] is demanding that four police forces wipe the slate clean for those with minor criminal records that date over ten years and more and were generally recorded whilst the perpetrator was young. This may at first sight seem harmless enough and is easy to portray as being trivial. However, those with a criminal record, gained at any age at what is regarded as being legally responsible, have to face the fact that they were either thieves, anti-social etc. Whether they nicked 99p, tried to thieve from a fruit machine or whatever, a crime is a crime. To then, in later life have the gall to demand those records should be wiped clean by the society that they commited the crime against, beggars belief. If this becomes a usual practise, then every imbecile that thinks it's cool to be a worthless, nay, negative contributer to society can confidently go about his business of being a complete prat with no future recourse. Yo, the future will be bright, some liberal minded left-winged **** of the future will wipe away the only assessment of his past crimes.
