Police are hunting for an armed robber who raided a jewellery shop while dressed in a burkha and pushing an empty pram.

The man pretended to be a mother browsing the store before launching the raid.

Four other men, who were dressed in dark clothing with their faces covered, were also involved in the robbery.

Armed with hammers, the gang smashed display cabinets and sprayed four shop workers with an unknown substance.

The men, all thought to be Asian, escaped with a quantity of jewellery in waiting cars.

The incident happened on Wednesday at Friends jewellers in Cape Hill, Birmingham.


Officers are appealing for anyone with information to contact Smethwick police station on 0845 113 5000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The shop's owner is offering a reward for information which leads to a conviction.
Another reason to scrap the burkha's where the religious freaks hide their faces.

Also, i don't know how the police will catch them with the faces covered up, what are they going to do..put up a wanted man sign with a picture of a burkha
