They don't care what voters think

The Democrats are proving once again that they don't care what voters think. 70% of Americans support Arizona's illegal immigration bill but Democrats don't. Most American's didn't want national health care but Democrats pushed it through anyway. What happened to listening to your constituents?

If your as pe.. ed off with your politicians as we are with ours we need to ask the question - Why do we let them control our lives as though we are nothing less than slaves?

In my life experience, I have found that the only way to smash a monopoly is to fractionalise it. Break it down into component parts and attack each part seperately.

Per example, The world changes and those who cannot change with it are destroyed by its convulsions. This is what Politicians never understand and they will continue to be constrained by the rigidity of the beliefs by which they hold on to power. so these politicians can be destroyed by their own arrogance.
Of course they don't care and, after an election, they don't even notice you exisit.

Of course they don't care, why were you under the misconception that people who seek power care about anyone else? The only time politicians ever put on the facade of "caring" is at election time and even then while they are "listening" and "making promises" to you, as soon as they are back in power it is generally all forgotten or watered down or put on the back burner.

Essentially the only vague choice the average person gets is to pick a group that will (from their point of view) do the least damage and do generally support some of your ideals.

My eyes were opened to how little the Democrats care about what the people think when they passed the bailout bill for the banks. When 95% of the people are telling them to vote no and they pass the bill, that's pretty blatant. The truth is, though, I don't believe the Republicans care, either. They're just putting on a better facade right now.

You're surprised? Isn't it more often than not the case that governments of whatever belief in most 'democratic' countries will make a great show of wooing the electorate with all sorts of promises when they're in opposition and there's an election looming, but the moment they're in power for the next few years, it's a different story and they'll just forge ahead with whatever pet projects they have in mind, regardless of public opinion? You'd think the public would learn wouldn't you, but we all seem to have very short memories and get conned into voting for particular parties based on pre-election promises time after time. Don't let me make you think I'm cynical about it though!

The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S.
