    Our economical climate

    Our current economical climate can be compared to a computer system. When a computer system starts to fail, you need to shut it down and repair it. It is difficult to repair a computer system error whilst others are still using the system to function.

    This is what our economy is doing. Our economy needs to be shut down and rebooted, however, shutting it down is not an option. As such Gordon Brown and the Labour Party must repair the system whilst it is in operation - over drive.

    So, can we repair our computer or do we require new software? That is the question.

    I think we all know what we need, however I don't think it takes a genius to work out that we'll just get more of the same running repairs, which'll take us staggering further and further down the line until we eventually get to the point that there'll be no option but to have a full reboot with new software! But that'll be far from pretty and I just hope I'm not here when it happens.

    Right now all we can do is have running repairs. Once our computer has recovered its system, then we start the job of installing new software.

    There's two elements at play here;

    Hardware: the sum processing/storage capacity of a computer.

    Software: the customizable set of instructions that determine how the computer's resources should be used.

    Continuing the analogy of this thread, the software can be considered the executive or the political; and the hardware the country's economy.

    Unless the country supports hotswaps, got to switch it off and replace the burnt out components.

    I prefer the analogy that the hardware is the infrastructure and the country itself, while the software is the economy.

    Our hardware is fine, our software is about as good as windows vista! It is time to downgrade to Xp!!!
