Polish manner of obstinate blocking new EU-Russia treaty negotiations smacks of Washington’s support, specifically C. Rice’s house. You see, recently US State Secretary has sent a letter for President Kaczynski through US Ambassador to Poland, where Mrs. Rice stressed the necessity for Poland to adopt a high profile on this issue. But if you remember how Rice has fallen on her face in the Middle East, it becomes clear that her effort won’t be rewarding in the case of EU ratification of a common position on the new EU-Russia pact either. Poland’s blocking the EU’s common position on the Strategic Partnership Treaty can only delay the launch of EU-Russian treaty negotiations in Finland. But pressing Poland to stick vividly to its high profile on this issue, Washington spurs on Western Europe to the arms of Russia! The matter is that now old Europe will have to develop its relations with Russia by-passing Eastern Europe.
Moreover, Kaczynski’s policy will put a stop to the process of EU expansion. And it will lead only to weakening political positions of Eastern Europe. All these things considering and defending their national interests, the countries in the EU15 will certainly adopt main constitutional law of the European Union… after its pertinent processing!
