Portrayal of George W. Bush in international advertisements

Greetings all -

I recently came across this blog containing ads that mock George Bush:

Portrayal of George W. Bush in international advertisements | creativebits

Personally, I found some of the ads funny as they are painfully true. I am an American citizen and I don't mind laughing at myself and our situation. Not all Americans agree that it is acceptable to laugh at our president when non-Americans are the ones making the jokes.

So, I was interested in hearing your thoughts on whether or not it is appropriate for British citizens to laugh at jokes made by non-Brits about British leaders.

Thoughts?
