UK diversity map reveals 85 percent chance of meeting an ethnic person

Seven per cent of all local authority areas now count as 'high ethnic diversity'
The extraordinary ethnic diversity of modern England has been revealed in an official analysis which shows that one in 14 local areas now count as highly racially mixed.
It found that large swathes of cities are home to so many ethnic groups that neighbours are more likely to come from different backgrounds than to share the same race.
And it said one in every five people an average person meets is likely to be from a different ethnic group.
The breakdown, prepared by the Government's Office for National Statistics, is the first ever attempts to measure how mixed in terms of race and religion each area has become.
It found that Brent and Newham in London are the most mixed boroughs, and that any two people picked from the street in either area will be from a different race.

So what happened to these figures that only 5 and 6% of the population were immigrants?
