Angry Migrant workers get benefits fast tracked

Indigenous Britons are forced to the back of the queue once again as it becomes news that migrant workers who have been laid off as a result of H5N1 avian flu at Bernard Matthews turkey farm are to have their benefit claims fast-tracked.

Work and Pensions Minister John Hutton instructed Norfolk benefit agencies to process the benefit claims of the migrant workers "without delay". The migrant workers do not speak English, so Portuguese-speaking staff have been provided to the benefits agency to deal with the claims.

Around 130 workers have been laid off at the turkey plant, and it is estimated that a further 400-500 jobs may be at risk after the slump in sales of Bernard Matthews products.

The claims of non English speaking migrants fast tracked - so much for getting tough on those who do not learn English!
