| U.K needs immigrants like a hole in the head. Three seperate news reports have come to my departments attention today; Not enough nurses to feed patients properly http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...page_id=17 74 In which it sais; 'Up and down the country we are seeing nursing jobs being lost and posts being frozen and deleted to cut costs. And another article from a few days ago; Is patient care in crisis because of NHS cuts? http://newsforums.bbc.co.uk/nol/thre...0704151 42211 Where it states; Nurses' leaders say patients are being harmed by job cuts in the profession caused by continuing NHS deficits. The Royal College of Nursing, whose conference opens on Sunday, claims that more than 22,000 NHS posts have been lost in England in the past 18 months. Also; The great NHS staff disaster: From boom to bust http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv...n_page_id=1770 This has led to job freezes and cuts to training budgets by as much as 30 per cent. Almost 1,500 staff have been fired and up to 20,000 jobs have been frozen, meaning many newly-trained staff cannot get a job. Last year, 68 per cent of physiotheraphy graduates were unable to find work. For the first time in a decade, the number of NHS staff fell - by 11,000, in the final quarter of 2006. Bad enough in it’s own right. HOWEVER,; Immigrants face points test to work in Britain http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/liv... page_id=1770 Including this; Mr Byrne, speaking from Sydney, said highly-skilled migrants would face the test from the New Year. They will be followed by skilled migrants - such as nurses - next autumn. Excuse me, but…? The Government is very fond of quoting that East Europeans are filling gaps in the labour market. Really? It is five years since the Government first said that we need immigration to fill 600,000 vacancies in the labour market. Since then, three quarters of a million immigrants have arrived in U.K. Yet vacancies are still at 600,000. More than half a million east Europeans have come to Britain since May 2004. This figure, a rate of almost 590 a day, does not include the self-employed, children or partners, or non E.U immigration. So the actual number is closer to 700,000, or one in every 85 people living in the U.K. As well as placing unprecedented pressure on schools, hospitals and roads, the migrants are costing the taxpayer up to £60million in benefits. According to the Home Office, 55,000 are now in receipt of benefits such as tax credits, child benefit and council housing. The number claiming state support has risen by almost 30 per cent in the past three months. I think the reports above, regarding the NHS, prove this abmirably. I will also reask my question; “Now would one of you bleeding heart liberals care to tell me just what benfits the U.K is gaining from the flood of unwanted spongers (immigrants)?” |
