Exclamation Foreigners in UK jails costs £398 million!

Keeping foreign nationals in overcrowded British jails is costing the taxpayer more than £398 million a year, it has been claimed.

Britain’s prison system is severely overcrowded

Figures obtained by the Tories show that 15 per cent of the nearly 80,000-strong prison population are from outside the UK.

The largest contingents among the 12,122 come from Jamaica and Nigeria, with 1,490 and 1,070 respectively.

Another 879 inmates are classified as having “unrecorded” nationality—raising questions over why officials have been unable to establish their origin, and what will happen to them when released.

'Only' 8% of the population is supposed to be foreigners yet 15 percent of the prison population is composed of foreigners. This therefore proves that foreigners are at least twice as likely to commit crime.

The government recently did a deal with Lybia whereby all Libyan prisoners would be deported and be made to serve the rest of their sentence in Lybia. As Lybia has the common sense to make their prisoners do hard labour they actually benefit from their system. Sadly we don't do the same because of the marxist Human Rights Act!

Why don't we do similar deals with other nations then?
