 Immigrants Blamed For Drink-Driving Rise Immigrant drivers' outdated attitude to drink-driving is fuelling a rise in road crashes, a police chief has warned. Chief Inspector Rick Dowell, the head of Dorset Police's traffic unit, said his officers were witnessing an increase in the number of foreign nationals involved in drink-driving. Mr Dowell said drivers from Eastern Europe also struggled to understand road signs, which was adding to the surge in the number of immigrants involved in fatal or serious injury collisions. He said Latvians had the same attitude to speeding as the British did 10 years ago, and immigrants had a similar attitude to drink-driving as people in this country 20 years ago. His comments came after Cambridgeshire Chief Constable Julie Spence called for more resources to cope with an influx of migrant workers. Click here for full story (Sky News)      |
