    Hi, I'm Llangollen

    Hello

I've joined this forum specifically to learn about politics. Nothing more.

My knowledge is rather limited, so therefore I see no point to support any specific party at the moment, as I wouldn't be able to give you good reasons why.

I see many political discussions on another forum (not specifically a politcal forum, mind you, so not as in depth as here) which I would love to get my teeth into, and express opinion, but I lack any depth in my political knowledge and would be ripped to shreds. It is the same here, but because this is a political forum, I stand a much better chance of learning the ropes and seeing where I stand.

My main goal on here is to read up enough, get information, so I can contribute significantly to this forum. I'm willing to learn!

I'm a student marine biologist from Scarborough, a beautiful part of the country. Away from term time, I reside just outside of Sheffield.

I look forward to reading the discussions on here, and eventually posting

    Llangollen

EDIT: Is there a specific credit crunch thread on here? Thanks

Moved these two posts from "A bit about yourself" to here, and whilst I'm at it, my own welcome to the forum Llangollen!
"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised 'for the good of its victims' may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us 'for our own good' will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." -- C.S. Lewis

Welcome llangollen! Marxist Nutter has already done the formalities, so I will just echo him in offering my assistance, along with any other moderators'. Feel free to drop us a Private Message at any time with any questions you have, whether about the forum mechanisms, the rules, or simply about politics!

You might find it useful to make a thread in UK politics or in General Discussion outlining some of the most fundamental questions that you have, and we will do our best to answer them!

    Enjoy yourself,

    DG

    Welcome to the forum Llangollen.

This is a pretty easy going forum, with a good mix of different political views, so I concur with Marxist Nutter just jump straight in to debate (discussion) and ask any questions you may have, over time you will find where your views fit into the political spectrum.
