Hello and Greetings,

The current state of British politics has encouraged me to take a more active interest in the political scene. I'm a (reasonably) normal male living in a small town with my wife, and immediate family within walking distance.

Canned history..
Ex H.M. Forces, then a move into computing and ending in a sales roll. Last paying job was as a self employed antiques and collectables dealer, now semi-retired.

Previous wife died after contracting cancer and now I'm married to the most beautiful Lady I ever met. I have five grandsons, two in the UK and three in Russia.

My previous political alliance would have been Labour, but over the past few years I've become increasingly disillusioned with not only the Labour party but all the major parties. I no longer trust politicians in general and would be delighted to hear just one of them offer a straight and honest answer to a question (any question). When our current Government is forced to bring in three members of the House of Lords to prop up a failing cabinet, I believe it's time for the population to be given the option of a General Election to verify Browns politiking.

I look forward to healthy discussion here, and hopefully the chance to learn more about our political structure and aims.

Welcome Fisherman! There are certainly a lot of other people here who don't appreciate the scandals caused by the three main parties. However, bear in mind that it is only a minority of Parliament who claimed ridiculous things on expenses! The vast majority of politicians are not crooked and self-serving, especially in the Labour and Lib Dem back benches. I plan to find out the expenses history of my MP before making the decision of who to vote for at the next G.E.
